A disturbing video showing a young man being publicly assaulted by an influential individual in Karachi’s upscale DHA area has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage.
The video, which quickly gained traction online, shows a man identified as Salman Farooqi, reportedly the CEO of a media company named Bionic Films, physically attacking a youth. A woman, believed to be the victim’s sister, can be seen in the footage repeatedly pleading for the attacker to stop, but her cries were ignored.
According to reports, the assault took place in the Ittehad Town area of DHA Karachi. The incident was brought to the attention of authorities after the footage was widely circulated on various social media platforms.
Police Confirm Investigation
SSP South Karachi, Mahzoor Ali, confirmed that police became aware of the incident through social media monitoring. As of now, no official FIR has been lodged by the victim or his family. However, the police have launched an investigation and have taken initial action based on the video evidence.
“We have identified the suspect as Salman Farooqi, CEO of Bionic Films. He and his security guard are accused of taking the law into their own hands,” said SSP Ali.
Law enforcement officials conducted a raid at the office of Bionic Films in an attempt to arrest Farooqi, but the premises were found locked. Further raids are underway at various locations to apprehend the suspect.

Police are also trying to trace the victim and his family to encourage them to come forward and file a formal complaint. Authorities have assured that full legal support will be provided to the victim once contact is established.
