1 Ramadan Start in Egypt from April 13

The wait for the1 Ramadan start in Egypt is now over. Egypts Dar Al Ifta al Misriyya announced that the first Roza in the country will be on April 13.

The official statement by Dar Al Ifta declared Tuesday as the 1st day of the holy month in Egypt and the Monday as the completion of the month of Shabaan.

During the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan, Muslims abstain from drinking and eating from dawn to dusk, a practice that is one of the five pillars of the religion.

This year, the Egyptian government has allowed daily prayers and collective night prayers or “Taraweeh” in mosques during Ramadan along with all precautionary measures against COVID-19. The Egyptian government has called for caution against a possible rise in infections during the holy month of Ramadan.
