The Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) announced about approval of Anti-COVID Pills. UK has approved the use of Merck’s antiviral pill to treat patients with mild to moderate symptoms.
On the approval of this treatment Health Minister share his view about it. He said It is historic day for our country. UK is the 1st country to approve antiviral pills that can be taken at home easily.
This development is going to be a game changer. Most vulnerable and immune-deficient people soon be able to get ground treatment.
Antiviral called molnupiravir will slow down the disease. It would be helpful to decrease the ability of virus to replicate.
MHRA reports that it is safe and effective to reduce the risk. Hospitalization and death risk due to mild or serious infection would also be controlled with it.
This drug is most effective when taken in the early stages of infection. MHRA recommends that it be used within five days of the onset of symptoms.
Britain is the most affected country due to COVID-19. As per the October 20 October It has ordered 480,000 doses of molnupiravir.
