Delegates from several Arab and Muslim countries are reported to be preparing a walkout during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu UNGA 2025 speech, according to a report citing diplomatic sources. Israeli news outlet also reported that Israeli officials are anticipating protest actions, including a possible walkout, during the UN General Assembly 2025 session in New York.
However, neither the United Nations nor any Arab or Muslim member state has issued an official statement confirming a coordinated boycott. Reuters fact-checked viral videos claiming a 2025 walkout and found they were from Netanyahu’s 2024 UN speech, not the current session.
The reports follow Netanyahu’s past references to a Greater Israel plan, which leaders in Qatar, Jordan and other Muslim states have previously called a threat to Arab security and regional stability.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif UN speech is scheduled for later today. Pakistani media, including Dawn and Geo News, report that Arab and Muslim delegates are expected to return to the hall for his remarks, although this has not been confirmed by the UN schedule.
Both Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Bangladesh Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus are also scheduled to speak at the UN General Assembly 2025, aiming at addressing global trade and conflicts in the region.
