Kabul: An explosion in Khost, Eastern Afghanistan, wounded at least 34 people while 17 have been killed.
The blast in Afghanistan occurred yesterday at the mosque that was used as a voter center. According to sources, the aim of the blast is to delay the upcoming parliamentary elections. The provincial police official revealed that when the blast happened, people were present after offering prayers in the mosque. He further added that the blast is believed to be caused by explosives placed inside in the mosque. Head of the health department, Habib Shah Ansari, also confirmed the death of 17 people along with 34 injuries.
However, nobody has claimed the responsibility for the terrorist act that is an addition to the consequent attacks happening since the beginning of the registration process.
