Donald Trump Nominated for 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for Role in Israel-Iran Ceasefire

U.S. President Donald Trump has been officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026 in recognition of his diplomatic efforts in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. The nomination was made by Republican Congressman Buddy Carter from the state of Georgia, who sent a formal letter to the Nobel Committee.

According to U.S. media reports, Buddy Carter acknowledged Trump’s “extraordinary and historic role” in preventing a full-scale war between Israel and Iran. In his letter, Carter wrote that Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism from acquiring lethal weapons and helping end armed conflict in the Middle East.

Trump’s Previous Peace Efforts Also Highlighted

This is not the first time President Trump has been recognized for his international diplomatic efforts. Earlier, the Government of Pakistan had also written a letter to the Nobel Prize Committee in Norway, recommending Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026.

Pakistan credited President Trump for playing a critical role in de-escalating tensions during a major Pakistan-India crisis, stating that his intervention helped avert a potential war. The Pakistani government highlighted Trump’s decisive diplomatic role in encouraging both nations to agree to a ceasefire.

Trump’s Statement on Nobel Prize

In response to these recognitions, Donald Trump stated that he should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for helping prevent wars like those between Pakistan and India. However, he added that the prize is typically awarded to liberals, and therefore, “they won’t give it to me.”

Trump’s peace efforts have been visible on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he announced the Pakistan-India ceasefire on May 10. More recently, he also made the official announcement regarding the Israel-Iran ceasefire, once again drawing global attention to his role in international diplomacy.

Nobel Peace Prize 2026 Nomination Gains Global Attention

The dual recognition from both a U.S. congressman and the Pakistani government has brought renewed focus on Trump’s foreign policy and peacemaking efforts. As the Nobel Peace Prize 2026 draws closer, global observers are keenly watching how the Nobel Committee will respond to these high-profile recommendations.
