Dubai set to revolutionize urban transport with launch of electric flying taxis in 2026

The king of Dubai Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved to launch flying taxis during the World Government summit. He tweeted that flying taxis will start in Dubai in the coming 3 years. We will make it the first world city to have fully built a network of airfields.

These airfields are infrastructure for the flying cars which take off and land such as air taxis. These cars have a speed of 300 km/h and a range of 241km. These taxis will have a pilot and 4 passengers.

The airfields network link Dubai with 4 key areas like Dubai international airport, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, and Dubai Marina. The Dubai Road and transport authority is working with Skysports, and Joby Aviation. To design the air taxis and infrastructure these steps are taken by 2026. This Project carried off to provide zero-emission rides to passengers from start to finish. During the summit, a model was displayed for people to experience flying taxis. The aircraft will have a speedy wait time due to its vertical take-off and landing capabilities.

These rides are safe, sustainable, and affordable. These are the main factors RTA is focusing on while planning air taxis. Dubai has very safe and strong records overall in taxis, buses, and metro cycling. Sustainability is now very much forefront agenda in Dubai and these air taxis are very quiet as compared to helicopters. The government will ensure the price of this service as this is to be used by people at an affordable price. The price is finalized in a way that should attract tourists and businessmen who want fast traveling and may be willing to pay a slightly higher fee for flying taxi services.

The government is confident about the flying taxis project as it will be a day-to-day mode of transportation for many peoples in the city. The RTA believes in having a very fair price from Uber as they want it to become a service that anybody can use. RTA also said the residents and tourists could fly in air taxis by 2026. The sites identified are in progress with the development of RTA. The president wants to make Dubai the finest of all factors depending on the country’s progress for the general public and foreigners.
