Former Malaysian PM Najib Razak Accused for Criminal Breach of Trust


Kuala Lumpur: Najib Razak, former Malaysian PM, charged with corruption for allegedly accepting huge money as a bribe.

Najib Razak is facing court trial due to the severe corruption charges on him. However, he is accused of taking 42 million Ringgit and three charges of criminal breach of trust. In addition, each charge can jail him for up to 20 years in prison.

The corruption charges did a great damage to Najib Razak’s reputation. It also became a major cause in his defeat in May elections.

Vice President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat, Tian Chua, said that Najib is the first Prime Minister in Malaysian history who gives trial in the court. He further added that it reveals that a new era is started where no one is immune from the accountability.
