Saudi Arabia issued new medical rules for Hajj 2026 and the message is direct. Only pilgrims who meet the health criteria will enter the Kingdom. The Saudi Ministry of Health has told all countries to verify their pilgrims before allowing them to travel.
The new guidelines for Hajj 2026 block pilgrims with kidney disease and dialysis. Heart patients who cannot handle physical effort also fall under the restrictions. The list includes advanced lung disease and liver disease. The Kingdom added neurological disorders, dementia and severe mobility issues. It also added infectious diseases and high-risk conditions.
The policy includes another major change. Pilgrims found unfit after reaching Saudi Arabia will return home. They will cover their own travel cost. The authorities will check medical certificates at arrival points. The Pakistani Ministry of Religious Affairs has warned doctors about issuing incorrect fitness certificates. Action will follow if a doctor clears an unfit pilgrim.
Saudi Arabia says Hajj requires physical ability. The crowd, the heat and the long walking routes demand stable health. The Hajj 2026 medical rules focus on preventing disruptions and reducing health emergencies during the pilgrimage.
For countries sending large groups, these rules change the preparation process. Pilgrims with long-term medical issues must review the new conditions before applying. The updated screening system means each traveler must confirm fitness before planning for Hajj 2026.
