Muntadhar al-Zaidi, a man who threw a shoe at former President George Bush during his Iraq tour in 2008 is now aiming for a seat in Iraqi Parliament.
He recently revealed his campaign for the May 12 parliamentary elections in Iraq. In addition, he also hinted at his desire to become the country’s president. However, he did the announcement in a video.
In 2008, Muntadhar al-Zaidi yelled at President George Bush and tried to throw the shoe on Bush. He was arrested and sentenced to three years imprisonment. However, he released after just nine months. Later, he migrated to Lebanon and came just two months back to organize his election campaign.
Muntadhar al-Zaidi revealed that if he becomes the president or PM of Iraq then he will ask the US to apologize to all Iraqis. He further added that he will also demand the accountability of former President George Bush and compensation for victims.
