Putin Called European Leaders “Little Pigs” — EU Reacts to Strong Warning

Russian President Vladimir Putin sharply criticized European leaders, calling them “pigs” during a military ceremony. He warned that if Western powers do not take the proposed U.S. peace plan seriously, Russia may secure its territorial goals by force.

On December 17, 2025, Putin called European leaders little “pigs” at a Russian military ceremony. He accused them of trying to harm Russia and profit from its challenges.

Putin said everyone expected Russia to collapse. That did not happen. He claimed all plans against Russia have failed.

He added that if opposing parties and their backers ignore the U.S.-proposed peace plan, Russia will secure its historic territory by force. The message was clear: Russia is ready to act.

Earlier this month, Putin warned that if Europe wants war, Russia is prepared. His comments followed claims that European leaders initially stayed isolated from Ukraine negotiations. Now, he said, they are trying to undermine potential agreements.

The remarks coincide with an EU summit on frozen Russian assets. Leaders debated whether to use the funds to aid Ukraine. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy urged Europe to act, showing Russia that its war effort will fail.

European officials denied the allegations of Putin. They emphasized further assistance to Ukraine with the help of diplomacy, support, and economic pressure.

Analysts observe that the comments of Putin are indicative of increasing tensions between Moscow and the West. They point to the continued conflicts with Ukraine, the unity of NATO, and the utilization of frozen assets. The threat of Russia indicates that it will not be deterred in case it feels that the West is not taking action or posing threats.
