Russian Army is preparing for biggest military drill in its history


Russia started preparation for the biggest military drill as 300,000 Russian Army troops will take part in the exercise.

Russian Army of 300,000 personnel along with Chinese soldiers will participate in the largest military drill of Russia. Vostok-2018 (East-2018) will be a week long military exercise that will begin on September 11 in eastern Siberia.

It will be a bigger military drill for Russian Army than Zapad-81 (West-81), the USSR’s 1981 war games. In that drill, 100,000 to 150,000 Warsaw Pact soldiers participated. However, this time 300,000 soldiers, 36,000 military vehicles, 1,000 planes and 80 warships will took part in the Vostok-2018 (East-2018). In Vostok-2014, 155,000 soldiers took part in the military exercise.

On the other side, China will also participate in Vostok-2018 (East-2018). However, 3,200 men will take part in the drills.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will also attend the event after attending economic forum in Vladivostok, Russia where Chinese President Xi Jinping will also present.
