A Russian plane bombed Afghan Border area located in northeastern Takhar province on Sunday.
It is not clear whether plane was Tajik or Russian. This incident happened in Afghanistan’s Durqad district after clashes erupted near Tajikistan’s border, according to an Afghan government official said on Monday.
Khalil Asir, spokesman for Takhar provincial police, informed that the bombing near the border area started after two Tajik border guards were killed in a clash with the Taliban.
Khalil Asir also added, eight Taliban insurgents were killed and six others were wounded.
The Taliban has confirmed the clash and the subsequent bombing.
