Saudi Arabia witnesses nationwide gatherings for Salat al-Istisqa 2025, the traditional prayer for rain. Citizens and foreign Muslims offer supplications to end the ongoing drought, following the King Salman prayer decree.
The Saudi rain prayer gets started just about fifteen minutes after the sun rises. As per the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, this event attracts extensive engagement from citizens, government officials, and local inhabitants.
Over 12,000 mosques across the kingdom host special congregations. Worshippers raise prayers to Allah for rainfall and blessings, in line with the Prophetic tradition.
The largest assemblies occur at Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina. Millions of Muslims prostrate together, offering the Saudi rain prayer for mercy and relief from the drought.
According to Islamic practice, Salat al-Istisqa 2025 is performed when rainfall stops for an extended period. The gatherings today follow the King Salman prayer decree, aiming to unite the nation in prayer for rainfall.
