Siliguri, a bustling city in West Bengal, is currently abuzz with the much-awaited seventh edition of its annual three-day Mango Festival. This vibrant event, organized by Modella Caretaker Centre & School (MCCS) in collaboration with the Association for Conservation & Tourism (ACT), aims to celebrate the rich diversity of mangoes and promote their conservation.
One of the major highlights of this year’s festival is the presence of the renowned ‘Miyazaki’ mango, widely regarded as the world’s most expensive mango. With an astounding price tag of approximately Rs 2.75 lakh per kilogram in the international market, this luxurious fruit has garnered attention from mango enthusiasts worldwide.

Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to feast their eyes on an impressive array of over 262 mango varieties. The event has attracted participation from 55 esteemed mango growers representing nine districts of West Bengal, who have brought forth their finest produce to compete for recognition and appreciation.
Among the captivating assortment of mangoes on display, attendees can admire renowned varieties such as Alphonso, Langra, Amrapali, Suryapuri, Ranipasand, Laxmanbhog, Fajli, Bira, Sindu, Himsagar, Kohitoor, and many others. Each variety showcases unique flavors, aromas, and textures, offering a delightful experience for mango enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
