UNSC meeting on Kashmir will be held today after 50 years

The United Nations Security Council or UNSC meeting on Kashmir will be held on Friday (today).

UNSC meeting on Kashmir at the request of China and Pakistan will be held today to discuss the Indian move. However, a few days back, India revoked the Article 370 and the special status of Kashmir. The UN Council took the issue of the worsening situation in Kashmir after over 50 years.

Poland that currently has the rotating presidency of United States Security Council. A few days back, the Indian Home Minister, Amit Shah revealed in Raj Sabha that the Article 370 is now ended and it will end the Indian Occupied Kashmir’s special status and make it a Union Territory with legislature.


On the other side, Iok will be bifurcated into 2 Union Territories. One will be Ladakh that will be without a legislature. However, the second one will be Jammu and Kashmir that will have a legislature. In the last 10 days, the spate of developments in Indian Occupied Kashmir triggered panic and fear among leaders and residents, with India confirming the deployment of 10,000 troops.
