Chinese Car Brand Kaiyi Set to Enter Pakistan Auto Market

Q-Links, a real estate group, has officially stepped into Pakistan’s automotive sector through its new mobility arm, Q-Autos. The company has begun teasing upcoming vehicle launches on social media, although key details such as brand name, model lineup, pricing, and launch timeline have not yet been officially revealed.

PakWheels Identifies Hidden Brand in Teasers

Auto review platform PakWheels closely analyzed the teaser videos and claims to have independently uncovered important details. By enhancing screenshots and examining design elements, the team identified the vehicle badge as belonging to Chinese automaker Kaiyi Auto.

According to industry references, Kaiyi Auto was established in 2014 as a subsidiary of Chery before undergoing an ownership restructuring in 2017, after which it came under a state-backed structure with Chery retaining a minority stake. The brand primarily focuses on budget-friendly passenger vehicles, including crossovers, sedans, and electric vehicles.

Kaiyi X3 Pro Likely Headed to Pakistan

The teaser video also showed a partially visible model name, appearing to read either “X8 Pro” or “X3 Pro.” However, since there is no international record of a Kaiyi X8 Pro, analysts compared the visual outline with existing models and concluded that the vehicle is most likely the Kaiyi X3 Pro.

The Kaiyi X3 Pro is a subcompact crossover that is offered globally in both internal combustion and electric variants.

Kaiyi X3 Pro Specifications (International Market)

Petrol Variant

  • 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine

EV-Only Launch Confirmed for Pakistan

In an update following the initial report, Kaiyi confirmed that only the electric version of the X3 Pro will be introduced in Pakistan. The company also plans to bring the Kaiyi E-Qute 4 EV hatchback, which will be announced separately.

Official Event Scheduled in Lahore

Q-Autos has announced a press conference scheduled for tomorrow at The Nishat Hotel.

While expectations are high, it remains unclear whether the company will officially launch vehicles, unveil the brand identity, or simply showcase upcoming models.

Key details such as pricing, booking process, delivery timelines, dealership network, and after-sales support are expected to be revealed at the event, making it a closely watched development in Pakistan’s growing electric vehicle market.
