Fuel Prices Rise Again: Petrol Hits Rs327.12 Per Litre, Diesel Crosses Rs375 in Pakistan

The petrol price in Pakistan and diesel price in Pakistan have been increased once again, with the latest revised fuel rates taking effect from Thursday, July 23, 2026.

The government has announced an increase in petrol price by Rs6.39 per litre and high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs7.83 per litre, according to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division.

The latest revision has led to the setting of petrol price at Rs327.12 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) at Rs375.04 per litre in Pakistan.

The new fuel rates will be effective from 23rd July, 2026, and will be valid throughout the country.

New Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan

Daily Petroleum Price Mechanism Introduced

The federal government officially approved the Daily Petroleum Price Mechanism last week, which is a replacement of the old weekly pricing mechanism.

In the new deregulation framework, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will now determine and release ex-depot petroleum prices daily on a working day. The new rates do not need to “pre-approved” by the federal government or the Prime Minister before they announced.

Fuel Prices Still Based on Global Oil Market

Even after the daily revision, the pricing formula remains the same, said petroleum minister Ali Pervaiz Malik.

The minister said OGRA is still continuing to compute petrol and diesel prices based on the prevailing international oil prices on a seven-day rolling average basis. The only updates is the daily instead of weekly review and updates of fuel prices.

The new mechanism designed to make local prices more flexible to the fluctuations in international oil markets and to be more transparent in the pricing process, the government notes.
