Gold Prices Explode to Two-Month High as Global Markets Surge

International gold prices jumped for the third straight day as the precious metal has reached its highest level in over two months.

Gold prices surged sharply across global markets on Monday. The precious metal posted gains for the third consecutive day.

Spot gold rose by one percent to reach $4,432.74 per ounce. This marks its highest price level since June 5. US gold futures also saw a sharp increase rising by 1.7 percent to settle at $4,492.60 per ounce.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the gold price in Pakistan per tola also increased by Rs 2,400 on August 11, reaching Rs459,736. The price of 10 grams of gold also rose by Rs2,058 to reach Rs394,149.

Gains Across Silver, Platinum, and Palladium

The price surge was not limited to gold. Other precious metals also gained value across global exchanges.

  • Silver: Rose by 0.9 percent to reach $66.30 per ounce.
  • Platinum: Gained 0.7 percent to reach $1,765.26 per ounce.
  • Palladium: Increased by 0.8 percent to touch $1,394 per ounce.

What is Driving the Surge?

This price jump has brought buyers back to the market. Global investors are watching closely once again. However, financial experts state that upcoming US inflation data and interest rate will decide the future direction of gold prices.

If global economic and geopolitical conditions stay uncertain, analysts believe gold could continue its upward trend. Market analyst Tony Sycamore noted that if favorable conditions persist, gold prices could eventually push toward the massive $5,000 per ounce mark.
