Government Hikes Petrol by Rs 3.05 and HSD by Rs 5.37

The government has increased petroleum prices for the fourth consecutive day, pushing the cost of petrol and high-speed diesel to new highs across Pakistan.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced fresh upward revisions through an official notification from the Petroleum Division. These updated rates took effect immediately on September 11, 2026

The latest price structure at retail fuel pumps nationwide includes:

Fuel TypeNew Price (PKR / Liter)Price Change

Market Pressures and Global Factors

Global refined product prices continue to climb due to escalating regional geopolitical tensions. OGRA calculates these daily fuel prices based on a seven-working-day rolling average of the daily Platts Arab Gulf Means Price.

Government levies and fixed profit margins remain steady across both products. Both fuels carry a Petroleum Levy of Rs80 per liter and a Climate Support Levy of Rs5 per liter.

Dealers receive a profit margin of Rs9.98 per liter, while oil marketing companies receive Rs7.87 per liter

Customs duties remain fixed at Rs21.15 per liter for petrol and Rs15.68 per liter for high-speed diesel, and the Inland Freight Equalization Margin stands at Rs7.60 on petrol and Rs4.02 per liter on high-speed diesel.

Government and Jamat-e-Islami Negotiations

To ease the financial burden on the public, the government requested a three-day delay from Jamat-e-Islami (JI) regarding a decision on reducing the petroleum levy.

JI Naib Emir Liaqat Baloch confirmed that officials urged the party to delay its final long march announcement until Monday while authorities review the levy rates.
