Petrol Price Rises by Rs 2.02, Diesel Falls by Rs 3.59 Per Liter

The government has increased the petrol price by Rs 2.02 per liter while reducing the high-speed diesel (HSD) rate by Rs 3.59. Petrol will now cost Rs 391.30 per liter and HSD Rs 408.53.
The revised prices took effect on September 26 and will remain applicable through September 28, according to a Petroleum Division notification.
The latest adjustment was made under the government’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism. The system allows fuel prices to reflect changes in international oil markets more frequently.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) reviews petroleum prices using international market indicators, including Platts rates, premiums and other costs.
Under the revised pricing system, OGRA publishes updated petroleum prices daily. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik previously said the calculation uses a seven-day average of international petroleum prices.
The latest revision gives motorists a higher petrol rate while lowering the cost of diesel. The government is expected to review the rates again after the current three-day period.
