Petroleum Prices in Pakistan to Remain Unchanged Until July 27

The petroleum prices in Pakistan will remain unchanged until July 27, according to sources in the Petroleum Division. The decision comes a day after the federal government announced the latest fuel price revision.

Under the current rates, petrol will continue to cost PKR 335.18 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will remain at PKR 383.46 per litre until July 27. The price of kerosene oil will also stay unchanged at PKR 301.14 per litre.

The government had revised fuel prices for July 25, increasing the price of petrol by PKR 0.66 per litre and diesel by PKR 4.80 per litre. The updated rates will remain effective until the next review.

Pakistan has recently witnessed frequent changes in fuel prices following the implementation of a daily petroleum pricing mechanism. On July 18, petrol became PKR 5.44 per litre more expensive, while diesel recorded a sharp increase of PKR 31.05 per litre.

Because of the closure of international oil markets, the next revision was announced on July 21. Petrol prices were reduced by PKR 0.35 per litre, whereas diesel prices increased by PKR 5.71 per litre.

Fuel prices continued to fluctuate throughout the week. On July 22, petrol rose by PKR 4.93 per litre and diesel by PKR 7.15 per litre. On July 23, petrol increased by PKR 6.39 per litre, while diesel went up by PKR 7.83 per litre. For July 24, petrol became PKR 4.40 per litre more expensive, and diesel increased by PKR 3.62 per litre.

The latest announcement means consumers will continue to pay the current petroleum prices in Pakistan until July 27, when the government is expected to review fuel prices again based on international oil market trends and the pricing formula.
