As a result of its partnership with Turkish Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was able to increase its income by Rs. 2 billion.
In just one month, 38,000 tickets for the Lahore/Islamabad to Istanbul route were sold, according to PIA. From Pakistan’s Lahore and Islamabad airports, this alliance started cooperative flights to Turkey.
Since PIA and Turkish Airlines began working together, over 38,000 tickets have been sold. The majority of them are round-trip tickets from Pakistan’s Lahore and Islamabad airports to Istanbul airports. This enormous volume of ticket sales allowed PIA to boost earnings by Rs 2 billion in a very short amount of time.
On November 15 of this year, the first of these flights in cooperation with Turkish Airlines took off. 34 days in all, the income rise is undoubtedly noteworthy. Currently, PIA offers six flights each week from Islamabad and Lahore to Istanbul.
PIA to launch discount tour packages for northern-areas of Pakistan
Along with a rise in income, PIA is also attempting to reduce the price of flights to the north of Pakistan. To increase local tourism during the winter, this decision was taken.
Khawaja Saad Rafique, minister of federal aviation, decided to provide incentives to encourage tourism in northern areas. Minister Saad made this choice after a high-level conversation with senior Pakistan International Airlines workers and the Aviation Ministry.
