State Bank of Pakistan Announces Eid-ul-Adha 2026 Bank Holidays (May 26–28)

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially announced bank holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha 2026, confirming that all banking operations across the country will remain suspended for three days.
According to the official statement, the State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed from Tuesday, May 26 to Thursday, May 28, 2026, due to Eid-ul-Adha holidays. All commercial bank branches, SBP offices and financial departments will remain shut during this period.
Banking services are to resume their normal operations on Friday, May 29, 2026 following the holiday break.
Federal Government Notification on Eid Holidays
Earlier, the Federal Government also issued a notification regarding Eid-ul-Adha public holiday from 26th to 28th May, 2026. The announcement came as per the State Bank’s schedule, which meant closure of public and financial institutions across the country during the festive period.
Impact on Banking Services
During the holiday period:
- All commercial banks will remain closed
- SBP offices and operations will be suspended
- Interbank and manual banking services will be unavailable
- Online and digital banking services may remain partially functional depending on banks’ policies
Customers are advised to complete their urgent banking transactions before the start of the holidays to avoid inconvenience.
Normal Banking Operations Resume on May 29
All banking services across Pakistan will resume from Friday, May 29, 2026, with regular business hours.
