Fire and Life Safety Certificates Declared Mandatory for Educational Institutions

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) now requires all private schools in Islamabad to have fire and life safety certificates. Schools have been given a strict deadline to get these documents, or they will be shut down immediately

PEIRA has officially ordered all private schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory to get proper safety certificates from the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Under these new rules, school managements must submit their fire safety and hazard control No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the relevant offices within 15 days.

Enforcement and Penalties

Government officials have started a strict zero-tolerance policy after checking safety conditions across the capital city.

Private schools will face legal action if they do not meet fire safety rules or do not keep emergency exits open. They may also be including being sealed if they do not submit their certificates on time.

This initiative is made to protect students and staff. It ensures all educational facilities strictly follow the Building Code of Pakistan and safety protocols.
