Islamabad School Summer Vacations 2026: Holidays to Start from May 25

The education authorities in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) have officially announced the summer vacation schedule for all schools and colleges, including both private and public institutions.

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has announced that Islamabad’s private schools and colleges will continue to be closed from May 25 to July 31 because of the impending heat wave in the region.

Academic activities will resume on August 3 after the summer break ends.

Public Schools Also Follow Same Schedule

In another notification, Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has also announced the same summer vacation program for government schools and colleges in Islamabad.

This will result in a common summer holiday, both public and private educational institutions, in the capital territory this year.

Heatwave Triggers Early Vacation Plan

The decision comes on the heels of a rapid surge in temperatures in Islamabad and across the nation. Education authorities have made arrangements to keep pupils safe and protected during times of severe weather.

The vacation schedule could help limit the exposure of children to extreme heat in the peak summer months, officials said.
