NED University 2024 Admissions Update: Minimum Marks Requirement Changed!

In light of the recent examination results from the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), NED University of Engineering and Technology has made significant changes to its admission criteria for the upcoming 2024 academic year.

A large number of students were unable to pass the intermediate examinations, leading to a surge in the submission of scrutiny forms at BIEK. This situation caught the attention of the former interim Sindh government, prompting the formation of a committee to investigate the matter.

The committee’s findings pointed to discrepancies in the examination results, particularly in the subjects of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Eight officials from the intermediate board of Karachi were identified as accountable for these irregularities.

In response to these developments, NED University’s administration has decided to lower the minimum mark requirement for admission tests from 60% to 55%. This decision was made to accommodate the students affected by the BIEK’s examination results.

The university is set to issue a notification detailing the changes in the admission policy, pending approval from the university’s syndicate. The admission test for the new academic session is scheduled for May, as confirmed by the NED administration.
