Pakistan Announces 500 Scholarships for Bangladeshi Students Under Knowledge Corridor Initiative

Pakistan has announced 500 scholarships for students from Bangladesh over the next five years under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative, a major step aimed at strengthening educational and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.

The Knowledge Corridor initiative was initially announced by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mr Ishaq Dar during his visit to Bangladesh in August 2025, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The Foreign Office confirmed that the second phase of the program was formally launched in Dhaka on May 10, 2026, marking a renewed push for academic exchange and institutional collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In this context, a delegation of Bangladeshis is on a three-week tour in Pakistan for an academic and cultural exchange under the Knowledge Corridor initiative. The visit is designed to “promote mutual understanding, develop higher education cooperation and deepen opportunities for student mobility,” officials said.

The Foreign Office further noted that Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral relations, highlighting that educational cooperation remains a key pillar of engagement between the two countries.
