Pakistani students and early-career professionals seeking fully funded higher education opportunities abroad can now apply for the DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2027-28, one of Germany’s most prestigious international scholarship programs for development-related postgraduate studies.
It is a fully funded scholarship provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for well-qualified candidates from developing nations including Pakistan to study at some of the best universities in Germany for selected master’s and PhD degree programs.
Monthly Stipend and Scholarship Benefits
Those who are successful will be provided with a substantial financial package for major study costs.
Master students will be granted a monthly stipend of €992, PhD students will be granted a monthly stipend of €1,300 – €1,400. In addition to the scholarship, health, accident and personal liability insurance, travel costs, and in some cases, rent and family allowances are also provided.
Funding for 12 to 42 months is available depending on the degree program selected.

Eligibility Criteria for Pakistani Applicants
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a recognized bachelor’s degree.
- Have an excellent academic record, generally ranking among the top third of their graduating class.
- Possess at least two years of relevant professional work experience after graduation.
- Demonstrate a commitment to returning to Pakistan after completing their studies to contribute to the country’s social and economic development.
Applicants should also ensure they have not lived in Germany for more than 15 months before submitting their application.
If the candidate is applying for a second postgraduate qualification, especially a doctoral one, they will need to provide a sound academic rationale that demonstrates a need for extra funding.
DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2027 Application Deadline

Most EPOS programs, however, require applications to be submitted by 15 October 2026, and it is crucial for Pakistani applicants to know the deadline dates for the programs they are interested in before applying.
How Pakistani Students Can Apply
Interested applicants are required to first select an appropriate EPOS postgraduate course of a participating German university. There is no need to apply through DAAD; the applications have to be submitted directly to the university.
