Pakistani actor and Tamasha host Adnan Siddiqui says having Indian reality star Rakhi Sawant on the show would be entertaining, while praising the program’s growing fan base in India.
Indian reality star Rakhi Sawant recently said she wished Tamasha was filmed in Dubai so she could join and make the whole world go mad.
Appearing on Maliha Rehman’s podcast Gloss Etc, Siddiqui responded to a question about whether he could handle Sawant on set. The show’s host, known as Badshah Salamat, stated that bringing her onto a Pakistani show is very difficult nowadays. However he admitted that having her on board would be a dream and very entertaining.
Cross-Border Popularity and Johnny Lever’s Praise
Siddiqui revealed that Tamasha has enjoyed a positive response from India since its very first season. The actor recalled receiving a phone call from veteran Indian comedian Johnny Lever, who praised his work on the show.
Siddiqui noted that reading positive comments from Indian viewers makes his heart swell.
Comparing Tamasha with International Shows
Tamasha follows the popular reality format of the Dutch show Big Brother, similar to India’s Bigg Boss hosted by Salman Khan.
When Rehman noted that people accuse Siddiqui of trying to copy Khan’s scolding style, Siddiqui replied that copying such a big actor is nothing to be ashamed of.
Discussing production scales, Siddiqui admitted that international shows benefit from much bigger budgets, teams and older systems. Still, he emphasized that Tamasha competes well despite its limited resources, rating the local production an 18 compared to an international 20.
