May 29 marked the solemn occasion to commemorate the beloved rapper and congressman who tragically lost his life in Mansa district when he was shot by a group of assailants. In remembrance of Moose Wala, Khan dedicated his qawwali performance of “Akhian Udeek Diyan” to the late rapper during his live concert. The village of Jawahar Ke, Moose Wala’s hometown, also paid its respects to the departed artist. Local residents organized prayers, with Moose Wala’s mother Charan Kaur present to honor her son’s memory. Fans and fellow congressmen joined in paying homage to the talented singer. Congress shared a special message on Twitter, stating, “UWC (United With Congress) pays tribute to our Congressman, Rockstar, Legend Sidhu Moose Wala on his first death anniversary. You are missed.”
The shocking murder of Moose Wala sent shockwaves throughout the subcontinent. However, the case remains unsolved, and Moose Wala’s father, Balkaur Singh, has accused the Aam Admi Party-led government in Punjab of failing to deliver justice for his son.
As of January 2023, significant progress had been made in the investigation of Moose Wala’s murder. Among the 31 individuals against whom FIRs were registered, 27 were apprehended and detained. However, Moose Wala’s family expressed concerns, asserting that the “real killer” had not yet been identified and brought to justice.
