Former anti-drugs officer Sameer Wankhede, known for his involvement in the 2021 arrest of Aryan Khan, has submitted chat conversations with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as evidence in his defense during court proceedings. Wankhede faces allegations of demanding a bribe worth Rs250 million from the actor, as reported by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Screenshots of alleged chat conversations between Wankhede and Shah Rukh Khan reveal heartfelt pleas from the Bollywood actor to secure his son’s release. Shah Rukh Khan expresses concern about his son’s well-being and implores Wankhede not to keep him in jail, fearing the negative impact it might have on his spirit. The messages emphasize the need for Aryan’s reform rather than subjecting him to a harsh environment where he could emerge “battered and broken.”
According to Indian media reports, Shah Rukh Khan’s messages to Wankhede were emotionally charged and signed off with “Love srk.” In these messages, he highlights the presence of individuals with “vested interests” and assures Wankhede that he will personally intervene to address any obstacles faced by the officer. Shah Rukh Khan repeatedly requests Wankhede to release his son and promises to do everything within his power to persuade those causing hindrances.
While several Indian media outlets obtained these screenshots from the court, their authenticity has not yet confirmed, and neither Shah Rukh Khan nor his legal team have released any official statements regarding these allegations.
In addition to the ongoing court proceedings, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an investigation into former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede. The CBI has raised concerns regarding Wankhede’s foreign visits, suspecting potential irregularities in the declaration of expenditures. The findings of the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Special Enquiry Team (SET) led to the registration of an FIR against Wankhede and four others on May 11.
