Government Set to Reduce Hajj Expenses to Below Rs1,075,000

Government Signals Relief for Pilgrims as Hajj Expenses Expected to Decrease

In an effort to ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims amidst soaring inflation, the caretaker federal government is poised to reduce Hajj expenses for the upcoming year. Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, hinted at this development during a recent dinner reception organized by the Pakistan Business Group Organization Punjab Chapter.

Ahmed expressed his intention to unveil the Hajj policy by Wednesday, November 15, underlining the government’s commitment to maintaining a consistent adherence to the Hajj Policy since 2004. He emphasized the significance of respecting and implementing the directives of the Saudi government in both letter and spirit.

During the event, Ahmed proudly announced a noteworthy achievement, disclosing that the forthcoming Hajj pilgrimage would incur a reduced cost. The new expense is expected to be less than Rs1,075,000, a marked decrease compared to the previous pilgrimage, which carried expenses of Rs1,175,000.

This move by the government is anticipated to provide much-needed relief to individuals planning to undertake the sacred journey, aligning with the broader goal of ensuring that the pilgrimage remains accessible despite economic challenges. The announcement reflects the government’s commitment to facilitating religious practices while addressing the economic concerns of its citizens. Stay tuned for the official Hajj policy announcement on November 15.
