In a significant move towards modernization, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, has unveiled a cutting-edge digital app designed to streamline the Hajj pilgrimage process. The announcement made during a press conference at the New Haji Camp.
The newly launched app aims to assist Hajj pilgrims at every step of their journey, providing comprehensive information from their Hajj flight to their stay in Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims can access a wealth of relevant details, including instructional videos to aid in their preparation for this sacred journey.
To facilitate easy identification of belongings, all pilgrims will be provided with a complimentary single-colored QR code suitcase. Additionally, each pilgrim will receive a free mobile SIM card from a Saudi telecommunications company, offering 180 minutes for international calls.
Minister Aneeq Ahmed highlighted that the government has taken steps to make the official Hajj package more affordable. The cost of the air ticket has been reduce from Rs. 250,000 to Rs. 200,000, resulting in a significant reduction of Rs. 1 lakh in the overall Hajj package price.
Speaking about the New Haji Camp, Minister Aneeq Ahmed emphasized the renovation of the facility, which now includes a dedicated vaccination center for Hajj pilgrims.
