Announcement by Religious Authorities
Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli, a prominent Islamic scholar, announced that Muslims in India will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on April 11. This announcement was further confirmed by the Markazi Chand Committee Eidgah Lucknow, which is responsible for moon sighting.
Confirmation from Delhi’s Imams
Imams from Delhi’s renowned Jama Masjid and Fatehpuri mosque also confirmed the non-sighting of the moon. They echoed the announcement that Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated across India on Thursday.
Shawwal Moon in India Notification Details
The official notification stated that the new moon of Shawwal had not occurred on April 9. Consequently, April 10 will mark the 30th Roza (fast), and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on April 11, 2024.
