CM Maryam Nawaz Free WiFi: Where are 50 Free Wifi Spots in Lahore?

In a progressive move, Lahore, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has embarked on a digital revolution. The city set to become a WiFi hotspot, with the launch of complimentary internet services at 50 locations as part of a pilot project.

The initiative, announced by CM Maryam via a social media post, is a testament to the government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide. “We promise, we deliver,” she affirmed, indicating that the rest of Lahore will soon follow suit.

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has entrusted with the task of revamping the existing infrastructure, including hotspots. This move expected to enhance internet accessibility in key areas, thereby promoting connectivity and streamlining communication channels.

The project, greenlit by CM Maryam during a high-level meeting with PITB officials last month, prioritizes educational institutions, airports, railway stations, and bus stands for the service rollout. In total, the free WiFi services will extended to 516 locations across Lahore.

Previously managed by the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the service is now under the supervision of the PITB. This transition anticipated to bring significant benefits to the public, marking a new era of digital empowerment in Lahore.
