Islamabad: An important announcement has been issued regarding traffic restrictions on Independence Day. A temporary ban has been imposed on the entry of heavy vehicles into Islamabad and Rawalpindi on August 14, while some hiking trails in Islamabad will also remain closed for one day.
According to a spokesperson for the National Highways and Motorway Police, the entry of heavy vehicles into Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain prohibited from 12 midnight on August 13 until 12 midnight on August 14. The purpose of the restriction is to maintain smooth traffic flow on Independence Day and facilitate citizens in their travel.
Motorway Police Instructions for Citizens
According to the spokesperson, citizens should check the latest traffic situation before starting their journey. Travelers can contact the Motorway Police helpline at 130 at any time to obtain information about routes and traffic conditions.
In addition, the latest traffic updates and necessary instructions can also be obtained through the National Highways and Motorway Police’s social media platforms.
Islamabad Hiking Trails Also Closed
Meanwhile, the Islamabad district administration has also decided to close all hiking trails in the city for one day as part of security and administrative measures on Independence Day.
According to the administration, Hiking Trails No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 will remain completely closed. A notification regarding the closure of these trails has been issued for August 13.
Citizens have been instructed not to visit the closed hiking trails during the specified restriction period and to follow the instructions issued by the administration during the Independence Day celebrations.
