4.5 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Keti Bandar, Tremors Felt Along Pakistan’s Coastal Areas

A moderate earthquake was felt near Pakistan’s coastal area on Sunday morning, with tremors reported in areas close to Keti Bandar and the Arabian Sea.
The Meteorological Department says the earth tremor struck at 8.31 AM local time. The epicenter of the Pakistan earthquake was 156 km to the south-west of Keti Bandar, in the Arabian Sea.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.5 and occurred at a depth of 40 kilometers. The moderate earthquake produced light to moderate intensity ground shaking at nearby coastal locations.
No damage or loss of life were immediately reported after the earthquake. Authorities continue to keep an eye on the situation and determine if there is any impact in affected areas.
The residents in the coastal areas were requested to not panic and to stay updated through official notification from the Meteorological Department and relevant authorities.
The recent tremor near Keti Bandar has once again brought to the fore the earthquake potential along the seafront and the Arabian Sea of Pakistan. Additional updates will be released when there are any major developments.
