Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme: Maryam Nawaz Announces 4 Acres of Agricultural Land for Successful Applicants

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme, announcing that successful applicants selected through a transparent balloting process will receive 4 acres of agricultural land for 20 years along with financial assistance to begin farming.

During the balloting ceremony in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz drew one of the successful applicants’ names in person and congratulated the winner by phone. She called it a historic move towards empowerment of farmers, alleviating poverty and sustainable agriculture in Punjab.

Each selected beneficiary will get 4 acres of government land on a 20-year lease under the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme. Furthermore, the government of Punjab will offer the initial cultivation costs of Rs200,000.

The government has received 30,000 applications for the scheme, and the public has shown great interest in it, the Chief Minister said. She also said the land allocation has been done purely on merit and that it has done with a transparent process using computer balloting.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that farmers will get only what they produce on the land allotted to them and what they earn from it. The initiative aims to make sure that the hard workers reap the rewards of their labour, she added.

The Punjab government will also offer Rs 50,000 per acre for land preparation to further assist new farmers, allowing them to start farming without significant financial strain.

The scheme will given to people who deserve it and their income levels are low where government land for cultivation is available, the Chief Minister said. Those who do not have any farming experience will be provided with technical training and agricultural advice which will help them to achieve success, she added.

Emphasising the government’s commitment to agricultural development, Maryam Nawaz said that the Punjab Government had become the first government to allocate the agricultural lands of the government to farmers under such an initiative.

She further added that women had made tremendous strides in all walks of life and reiterated Punjab government’s emphasis on empowering farmers, building food security and provide job opportunities to women through agriculture.

The Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme poised to enhance the rural livelihoods of the population by offering landless individuals the opportunity to access farmland, financial support, and technical expertise to establish viable livelihoods and promote agricultural development in Punjab.
