Motorbike Blast Kills One in Quetta

At least one person was killed and 10 others injured in a bomb blast at Kandhari Bazaar area of Quetta on Saturday evening.

According to police, unidentified miscreants had planted a bomb in a motorcycle. Women and children passing through the areas when the blast took place were severely injured.

The Counter Terrorism Department spokesperson said an explosive-laden motorbike was detonated with a remote control.

He added that three cars and many motorcycles were destroyed in the blast while many nearby shops were also damaged.

Soon after the blast security forces, rescue services and the bomb disposal squad reached the site and shifted the body and injured persons to civil hospital.

The deceased person was identified as Syed Nida Muhammad while the injured included Nawab Khan, Zarab Shah, Tajala, Muhammad Saim, Niamatullah, Abdul Mateen, Syed Mir, Abdul Samad and Ali Khan.
No terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far. Further investigation is underway.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo strongly condemned the blast and promised to punish the attackers.
