Chicken Prices in Lahore Drop Due to Low Demand: Check Updated Rates Here!

In a surprising turn of events, Lahore’s poultry market has witnessed a significant drop in chicken prices. The Pakistan Poultry Association confirmed this trend, attributing it to a decrease in demand.

Previously, chicken prices were soaring high, but the recent market slump has forced poultry proprietors to slash prices. Chicken meat, which was once sold at a steep Rs548 per kg, is now available at a much more affordable rate of Rs470 per kg, marking a reduction of Rs78 per kg.

Over the past three weeks, the price of chicken has seen a substantial decrease of Rs227 per kg. This downward trend is not just limited to chicken meat. The cost of chicks has also plummeted from Rs220 to a mere Rs100.

In response to the previous exploitation of consumers in the chicken market, Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, pledged to take strict action against those responsible. To tackle this issue effectively, she has initiated rigorous measures against poultry farmers and traders. As part of this initiative, stock data from these stakeholders has been requested to investigate the sudden price surge.
