Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated Pakistan’s first “Chief Minister Minority Card” in a historic event at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Complex on Wednesday. Chief Minister Minority Card Benefits
The Chief Minister Minority Card will initially benefit 50,000 minority families, who will receive Rs10,500 every three months. The number of beneficiaries expected to increase to 75,000 families in the coming years. Additionally, the Punjab government has introduced the following enhancements for minority welfare:
- Festival Grants Increased: Grants for religious festivals have raised from Rs10,000 to Rs15,000.
- Development Budget Boost: The annual development budget for minority communities has increased by 60%, ensuring greater access to infrastructure and resources.
Inauguration Highlights
The ceremony attended by representatives from various minority communities, including Hindu, Sikh, and Christian leaders. The attendees greeted the Chief Minister with enthusiastic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad.”
During the event, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif distributed minority cards and observed their practical use. She personally monitored a transaction made by Sonia Bibi using the Minority Card at an ATM, demonstrating the initiative’s effectiveness.

Religious leaders, including Bishop Nadeem Kamran, Sardar Saranjit Singh, and Pandit Lal, offered prayers for the success of the program. Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora, in his address, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for her dedication to improving minority welfare.
