In a recent development, Karachi’s Commissioner, Hassan Naqvi, has taken a firm stand against price manipulation in the city’s bread market. The Commissioner has officially set the prices for roti and naan, two staple food items in the region.
As per the new regulations, a 120-gram naan will now cost Rs 17, while a 100-gram chapati (roti) is priced at Rs 12. This move aims to ensure fair pricing and protect consumers from being overcharged.
Furthermore, tandoor owners have been instructed to display these prices prominently for the public’s convenience. This transparency is expected to discourage any potential price violations.
Commissioner Naqvi has also issued a stern warning, stating that strict action will be taken against any violators of these new pricing regulations. This decisive action underscores the administration’s commitment to maintaining market fairness and protecting consumer rights in Karachi.
