ECP Report Alleges PTI Hid Funds Worth Millions Of Rupees

A report released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday alleged that the PTI government hid millions of rupees worth funds.

The report alleged that the PTI provided false information regarding the party’s funding. It was prepared by a scrutiny committee of the ECP.

According to the bank statement received by the State Bank of Pakistan, PTI had received almost Rs1.64 billion in the name of party funds.

However, the report states that the party did not disclose funding more than Rs310 million to the ECP.

PTI founding member Akbar S Babar had filed a case regarding this matter in 2014. A scrutiny committee was formed in 2019 to audit the foreign funds received by PTI.

Babar had made allegations against PTI receiving funds from illegal sources apart from being involved in money laundering.
