The Election Commission of Pakistan is gearing up for the upcoming general elections in 2024, and in a bid to enhance transparency and efficiency, they have announced the introduction of the Digital Information Lab.
In an effort to streamline the coverage of the electoral process, the Election Commission has formulated a policy for the issuance of special accreditation cards to international observers. These cards, equipped with unique features, are currently in the final stages of printing. To facilitate international observers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has launched an online service for obtaining visas.
Responsibility for providing a comprehensive list of international observers to the Election Commission rests with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The security clearance of these observers will overseen by the Ministry of Interior, and formal letters have dispatched to various organizations, including the European Union and the Commonwealth.
To ensure a smooth experience for international observers, a dedicated desk will established at the Central Secretariat of the Election Commission in Islamabad. Additionally, facilitation centers will set up in the offices of all four provincial election commissioners.
