Finance Minister Ishaq Dar made an important announcement during a televised address, revealing the latest decision on prices. In order to promote economic stability and provide relief to consumers, the government has maintained the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) at Rs. 262 and Rs. 253 per liter, respectively.
During the recent fortnightly review of petroleum product prices, the government implemented a reduction in petrol prices by Rs. 8 per liter, and a decrease of Rs. 5 per liter for high-speed diesel.
This marks the second consecutive decrease in prices, following the previous review where the government had already lowered the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs. 12 and Rs. 30 per liter, respectively.
As a result of these successive adjustments, the cumulative decrease in petrol prices amounts to Rs. 20 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel has seen a substantial reduction of Rs. 35 per liter.
This decision by the government aims to alleviate financial burdens on the public and support economic stability by maintaining consistent pricing in the petroleum sector.
