Govt to Deploy Rangers for Law & Order Against TLP Protests

Prime Minister Imran Khan issued directive to stop the TLP Protests. The government will deploy Rangers for 60 days to maintain law and order in Punjab.

PM Imran Khan has said that the government will not allow anyone to take the law into their own hands. He passed this statement over the ongoing protest of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

PM said that the government will not allow violence for political purposes. The decision was taken at a meeting of the federal cabinet.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Interior Minister has directed the authorities to start crackdown against banned organization’s social media accounts. He also announced to summon the Punjab Rangers to hold charge of law and order situations.

He also informed that there is an international pressure on Pakistan. However, the government wants to maintain peace on both sides.

Rangers will be deploying for 60 days in order to maintain peace at the city.

Due to the six-day TLP protests, traffic on GT Road has been suspended, causing severe inconvenience to commuters.
