Heatwave in Karachi and Hyderabad: Temperature to Rise at 3-5°C Above Normal

Karachi and Hyderabad, along with other regions of Sindh, are set to experience a surge in day temperatures this week, with levels expected to rise 03-05 degrees Celsius above the norm. However, the weekend promises some respite, with gusty winds and rainfall predicted to restore temperature normalcy.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a high-pressure system will dominate the upper atmosphere across the country, particularly in the southern regions. A westerly wave is forecasted to sweep into the western territories on the evening of May 10th, extending its grip to the upper parts by May 11th.

This weather pattern will trigger a gradual increase in day temperatures across Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad, throughout the week. From May 8th to 10th, temperatures are expected to hover 03-05°C above the usual levels in certain parts of the province.

Rain in Pakistan

Rain-wind/thunderstorms are on the cards for Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro, and Sanghar on the night of May 10th and throughout May 11th. These gusty winds and showers are anticipated to help bring the soaring temperatures back to normal levels.
