The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued updated guidelines for parents regarding the timely registration and issuance of children’s B-Form (Child Registration Certificate). The authority has stressed that early registration is essential and advised parents to ensure timely renewal in case of expiry.
Birth Registration Within 30 Days Mandatory
According to NADRA, it is compulsory to register a child’s birth at the Union Council within 30 days of birth. After this initial registration, parents become eligible to obtain the child’s first B-Form from NADRA.
The B-Form serves as a key identity document for children in Pakistan and is required for school admission, passport applications, and other official purposes.
Age-Based Requirements for B-Form
NADRA has defined clear rules based on the child’s age:
For children under 3 years of age, no photograph or fingerprints are required for the B-Form. However, if parents intend to use the document for passport processing, the child must be present for photography.
For children between 3 to 10 years, a photograph is mandatory.
For children aged 10 to 18 years, both a photograph and fingerprints are required for biometric verification.
Required Documents for Application
Parents must provide the following documents when applying for a B-Form:
- Parent’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number
- Union Council-issued birth certificate or Child Registration Number (CRMS)
NADRA has also clarified that children above 3 years must be physically present at NADRA registration centers for the process.
Online Application Through Pak ID App
To facilitate citizens, NADRA has also enabled the B-Form application process through the Pak ID mobile application, allowing parents to apply from home without visiting offices.
Fee Structure and Processing Time
NADRA has set two categories for B-Form issuance:
- Normal service: Rs. 50 fee, delivery within 7 days
- Executive service: Rs. 500 fee, issuance within 1 working day
NADRA’s updated guidelines aim to streamline the child registration process and encourage timely documentation. Parents are advised to comply with birth registration rules and ensure their children’s B-Form is obtained without delay to avoid future complications in education, travel, and identification processes.
