Register Vehicles On CNIC Number In Sindh
There is good news for residents of Sindh as now they can register their vehicles on the CNIC or Computerized National Identity Card. The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department revealed the news on Tuesday.
As per the department�s spokesperson, the excise and taxation minister announced the facility so now a person can get information about the vehicle�s registration on their CNIC from the website www.excise.gos.pk.
The spokesperson further revealed that the facility will soon be offered through the text messages as well. It is noted that last month, the Sindh Government launched the advanced camera-readable vehicle registration number plates with different latest security features.
Shoaib Siddiqui, DG Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Department Sindh, said that the new number plates will be developed in collaboration with NRTC or National Radio and Telecommunications. However, it will assist in the tracking of vehicles and will make it simpler to obtain data as they will be camera-readable.
He also said that the new number plates will have 5 security features, including the tracking chip / RFID tag, laser serial number identification, integrated laser mark and embedded graphics, and the Sindh government’s monogram.
As per Shoaib Siddiqui, plates with new security features will be provided starting November 2020 only to the registered vehicles in the 1st phase. However, in the second phase, they�ll be issued to vehicles falling under �transfer� category, while people may purchase them if they wished in the 3rd.
